Volkswagen Based Sivas
The San Remo (4 seater) and the Raceabout are the less well known and most rare of all of the Edwardian Sivas. Both are based on the unmodified VW Beetle chassis. The San Remo uses a very similar body, seats and wings to the Ford based models. The Raceabout is totally different but similar in concept as the drivers and passenger are further back on the car than all of the other models. Both models use that same style of bonnet to the Citroen-based Parisienne.
The Volkswagen Beetle mechanical features do not need any description here as the running gear and chassis are so well known in the kit car world. Parts are very easy to come by as long as an eye is kept on quality. One major issue is the very light loading on the front wheels and hence the steering which for safety reasons should probably have some ballast added for a safe drive.
It is very difficult to find examples of these Sivas as it seem that were very few produced and sold.
