These air-cooled Citroens were also a perfect choice for an Edwardian looking replica. The suspension was unique to this range of French people's cars and flat twin engine looked the part when covered by the Renault style coal scuttle bonnet
As with the Ford version, the Siva body tub was fitted directly to the unmodified platform chassis. For the amateur builder, though, the need for a comprehensive assortment of metric tools could come as a shock in the seventies but so much these days as all modern cars are now metric.
Parts for these air cooled Citroens are easy to obtain when building or restoring as there are a few Citroen specialist suppliers - not much chance in Halfords though!. It is recommended that builders and restorers join one of the 2CV clubs for technical advice.
Don't expect to find conventional small car engineering anywhere on these Parisiennes, From the lack of cylinders and a radiator to the gear change coming at you from the dashboard everything is just that bit different, That unique suspension works very well giving the car limpet like road-holding albeit at an alarming angle. The exact specification of the two cylinder Citroens is best checked here as there were many changes to the specifications from 1953 to 1985 most notably engine output. In 1969 Citroen introduced the 2CV6, powered by the 602cc engine of the recently introduced Dyane 6 and these two are the most likely basis of the Siva Parisienne.
